CUSMA Formerly NAFTA

CUSMA Formerly NAFTA,
In most cases, the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)—a test of the Canadian labor market—is not necessary to obtain a work permit under CUSMA. Workers and companies participating in the CUSMA program are free from LMIA requirements but are still subject to all other laws and regulations governing temporary labor in Canada.

Other details

Applicants for a CUSMA Work Permit do not need a Temporary Resident Visa to enter Canada, thus they can do so at any port of entry (including airports and border crossings) or at any Visa office (in person or online).

The Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), formerly known as NAFTA, is an important trade agreement that allows for the movement of professionals between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. At Watershed, we have extensive experience in helping individuals and businesses navigate the CUSMA immigration process.

Our CUSMA service includes a thorough assessment of your eligibility, guidance on the specific requirements for your profession, and assistance with preparing and submitting your application. We understand the intricacies of the CUSMA agreement and will work closely with you to ensure that your application is strong and meets all the necessary criteria.
